Pukka World Flavours is a range of globally-inspired ready-to-bake pies featuring authentic international flavour profiles in Pukka's signature pastry format. The collection includes varieties inspired by cuisines such as Indian, Thai, Mexican, and Middle Eastern.

Product innovation


The range incorporates authentic spice blends and cooking techniques from various global cuisines, adapted to work within the constraints of pastry-based products. The innovation lies in the development of filling formulations that deliver authentic flavour profiles while maintaining the structural integrity and shelf life required for retail distribution.

Development


The concept was developed in response to market research showing growing consumer interest in global flavours across food categories. Pukka identified the opportunity to extend its established pie platform with internationally-inspired varieties that would appeal to more adventurous consumers while maintaining the brand's accessibility.

Trend


According to Mintel's 2023 Global Food Flavour Report, 78% of UK consumers express interest in trying international flavors in familiar formats.


Kantar Worldpanel data showed that ready meals and convenience foods with global flavor profiles grew by 12% in 2023, outpacing traditional varieties. Additionally, Euromonitor International reported that "accessible authenticity"—international flavours in approachable formats—was among the top five food trends driving category growth.

Launch Details


Launched in the United Kingdom in January 2024, available in major supermarkets nationwide.


The products were priced at £2.50 for an individual pie, positioning them as a premium option within the chilled pie category.
